Ohio State freshman guard Austin Grandstaff will transfer
Ohio State freshman guard Austin Grandstaff will transfer, the school announced Thursday.
The 6'5" Grandstaff appeared in 10 games this season, averaging 11.5 minutes and 4.4 points.
A native of Rockwall, Texas, Scout.com ranked Grandstaff a four-star prospect and the 60th overall player in the 2015 class. Grandstaff was touted for his shooting ability, and shot 12–36 from three at Ohio State.
“[Ohio State has] been nothing but great to me,” Grandstaff told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman on Thursday. “But I just don’t see it as the right fit, so I want to look somewhere else. They are great people, and Coach [Thad] Matta is a great coach.”
