Tom Izzo’s father, Carl, died Monday at the age of 90.

Carl Izzo, the father of Michigan State head basketball coach Tom Izzo, died Monday at the age of 90, Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Homes of Iron Mountain, Mich., confirmed to the Detroit Free Press.

Despite his father’s Monday passing, the younger Izzo will reportedly be on the sideline Tuesday night against Iowa. He leads the No. 1 Spartans into Big Ten play with an undefeated record.

The funeral for the elder Izzo is tentatively set for Sunday in Michigan.

The Spartans (13–0) will tip off at Carver-Hawkeye Arena against the Hawkeyes (9–3) on Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
