Alabama DB Tony Brown sent home for violating team rules
Brown finishes the year with 16 tackles, a forced fumble and two passes defended.
Alabama defensive back Tony Brown has been sent home for a violation of team rules, reports SI’s Andy Staples.
“We have made an internal decision to send Tony Brown home due to a violation of team rules,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in a statement.
Brown, a sophomore, finishes the season tied for the team lead with eight special teams tackles.
A former five-star recruit out of Beaumont, Texas, Brown recorded 16 tackles, a forced fumble and defended two passes in 2015.
Alabama will play Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl on Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
