LSU TE Dillon Gordon hospitalized after being stabbed
LSU tight end Dillon Gordon was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being stabbed in the chest during a bar altercation, reportsThe Advocate.
According to a Baton Rouge, La. police spokesperson, Gordon’s wounds were deemed non-life threatening in the wake of a brawl that occurred just after midnight at Reggie’s bar in Tigerland.
“Calling it a stab wound might be an exaggeration,” Lieutenant Don Kelly said. “From what I understand, it’s not a serious injury at all. Working to try to figure out who did it. The person who did it left the scene.”
It was later reported that Gordon also sustained wounds to his leg and abdomen in the altercation.
The 22-year-old senior tweeted early Tuesday morning in response to the incident.
Gordon, a three-year starter for the Tigers, missed the majority of the 2015 season after undergoing surgery for an Achilles injury he sustained on Oct. 17 against Florida.
The Louisiana native started every game as a junior and 12 of 13 as a sophomore. He has requested a medical redshirt for the 2016 season.
