Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry will enter NFL draft
Heisman Trophy winner and Alabama running back Derrick Henry will enter the 2016 NFL draft, Henry announced at a press conference Friday.
The news was first reported Thursday by ESPN’s Joe Schad.
Henry, who rushed for a school record 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, was an integral part of the Crimson Tide’s national championship winning squad this season.
Along with the Heisman, Henry captured the Doak Walter Award for the country’s best college running back, as well as the Walter Camp Award and Maxwell Award for best American college football player in 2015.
The star rusher broke Shaun Alexander’s program record for career rushing yards during Monday’s championship game against Clemson.
