The Georgetown Hoyas defeated the No. 5 Xavier Musketeers, 81–72, Tuesday night.
Sophomore guard Tre Campbell scored a career-high 21 points, 17 of which came in the first half, to help lead his team to the victory.
The Hoyas, who have several bad losses already this season to Radford, Monmouth and UNC Asheville, improve to 12–7 and earn a much-needed conference and resume win. The Musketeers fall to 16–2, with their other loss coming against Villanova on Dec. 31.
Georgetown will take on Connecticut on Saturday, while Xavier will play Seton Hall.
