With Williams’s new memoir, “Life is Not an Accident” releasing this week, he reflected on the 2003 crash that left him with serious injuries to his left leg and pelvis and ended his career with the Chicago Bulls after just one season.
Williams had a decorated college career at Duke, where he won the national title in 2001, and looked bound for NBA stardom before the accident nearly took his life. Now 34, he’s taken a hard look back at his choices and the pro lifestyle.
