Arkansas State has hired Baylor assistant coach Grant McCasland as head coach, reports Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
McCasland, who played at Baylor, has worked at the school as an assistant since 2011. Prior to joining the Bears staff, he was a successful head coach at the junior college and Division II levels.
McCasland won a NJCCA national championship with Midland in 2007 and twice took Division II Midwestern State to the Elite Eight.
He takes over for John Brady, who resigned during the season. The Red Wolves finished the season 11–20 and haven’t made the NCAA tournament since 1999.
