Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski appears to be caught in a lie.
After Oregon’s beatdown of the Blue Devils in the Sweet 16 on Thursday, Coach K had words with Oregon’s Dillon Brooks for his long three near the end of regulation. The subject of that conversation was very much up for debate Friday. Brooks said that the longtime Duke coach told him he was “too good of a player to be showing off at the end,” while Coach K denied lecturing him.
CBS released new video of the exchange on Thursday, which confirms that Krzyzewski said something critical toward Brooks.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Brooks says in the video. This contradicts Coach K’s claim that he simply called Brooks a “terrific player.”
Oregon will take on Oklahoma in the Elite Eight on Saturday.
