Houston Rockets guard Jason Terry interviewed for the vacant head coach position at UAB on Thursday, he confirmed in a text to Fox 26 in Houston. 

Terry said that he has not yet made the decision to retire, but that he is actively looking towards his future off the court.

“No, I’m focused on the playoffs, and there has been no offer made, but I have to keep all my options open when it comes to my post-playing career,” he said. 

Terry, 38, is currently in his 17th NBA season and is the eight-oldest active player in the league. He played his college ball at Arizona from 1995 to ’99.

He has averaged 5.8 points in 17.4 minutes a night this season. The NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2009, Terry has averaged 14.4 points and 4.1 assists over his career.

The Rockets (37–39) are currently ninth in the Western Conference Standings, one game behind the Utah Jazz for the final playoff spot.

According to AL.com, UAB interim head coach Robert Ehsan and Auburn assistant Chuck Person are also under consideration for the UAB job.
