Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight will start at quarterback for Texas A&M in 2016, head coach Kevin Sumlin announced Monday.

Knight, who joins the Aggies as a graduate transfer, replaces former Texas A&M quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray, who have both transferred.

A starter for most of his first two seasons at Oklahoma, Knight lost his starting job to Texas Tech transfer Baker Mayfield at the beginning of last season and saw action in just six games in 2015. He completed 22 of 40 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns, with two interceptions.

In his career with the Sooners, Knight completed 57.1% of his passes for 3,424 yards, 25 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He also rushed for 853 yards and eight scores with Oklahoma.

Texas A&M opens the 2016 season on Sept. 3 against UCLA at Kyle Field.
