Florida Gulf Coast coach Joe Dooley is considering resigning from his position to become an assistant coach at NC State, reports Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.

The offer from NC State will reportedly be a major pay raise for Dooley, although he is taking a step down from leading his own program.

Dooley took over as the coach of Florida Gulf Coast after Andy Enfield left for USC following the 2013 season.

He previously served as the head coach at East Carolina from 1995–1999. He most recently worked as an assistant at Kansas from 2003–2013.

Dooley has led the Eagles to a 65–38 record in three seasons. Florida Gulf Coast made an appearance in the NCAA tournament this season after winning the Atlantic Sun conference tournament.
