Arkansas has named quarterback Austin Allen its starter for the 2016 season, head coach Bret Bielema announced Thursday.
Allen, a rising redshirt junior, is the younger brother of the team’s former starting signal caller Brandon Allen. The elder Allen started each of the last three seasons for the Razorbacks.
In a backup role the last two seasons, the younger Allen passed for a combined 188 yards and one touchdown, while recording one interception in his 19 collegiate appearances.
Arkansas went 8–5 in 2015.
