Michigan State forward Marvin Clark has transferred to St. John’s University, he announced on Instagram on Wednesday.

“New beginnings...in the city that never sleeps,” Clark wrote on Instagram before thanking the Spartans for a “great two years.”

Clark averaged 3.9 points and 2.5 rebounds and also shot 42.3% from three-point range with Michigan State this past season.

“We are glad Marvin decided to join our basketball family,” St. John’s head coach Chris Mullin said in a statement. “He’s an experienced player with size, athleticism and a solid skill set. Marvin is a good fit for our program and we believe he will transition well into our style of play."

Clark will sit out of the 2016–17 season and then will have two years of eligibility left to play with the Red Storm.

“I feel extremely comfortable moving forward at a place where I can be an integral part of the future success of the program,” Clark said.
