Video of Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon punching woman ruled public record

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled that a surveillance video showing Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a female student in 2014 is public record.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled that a surveillance video showing Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a female student in 2014 is public record, according to News9.com.

The ruling allows the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters to go to trial to gain access to the video, after a judge originally ruled in February 2015 that the video wasn’t public because Mixon wasn’t arrested.

Mixon accepted a one-year deferred sentence and 100 hours of community service after the incident. He was also suspended by the Oklahoma football team for one year. 

He no longer faces charges for the incident.

Mixon played his first season for the Sooners in 2015, rushing 753 yards and seven touchdowns.
