Melo Trimble will return for his junior season at Maryland, the program announced Wednesday night.
During the 2015–16 campaign, the point guard averaged 14.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game, en route to earning All-Big Ten second-team honors.
As a sophomore, he guided Maryland to its second consecutive season with at least 27 wins and an appearance in the Sweet 16, where the team fell to No. 1 overall seed Kansas.
After his freshman season, Trimble was considered a potential late first-round pick. According to recent reports, however, NBA scouts believed Trimble should return to the Terrapins for one more season.
