(STATS) - A misdemeanor domestic violence charge against FCS All-America quarterback Eli Jenkins of Jacksonville State was dropped Tuesday after he met measures that were set forth by an Alabama judge.

The Anniston Star reported Jenkins told Judge Joseph Maloney he completed counseling and did not have any further incidents with law enforcement since his arrest on Jan. 20.

He was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. after campus police responded to a domestic violence call. According to the police report, Jenkins argued with a 22-year-old woman and was sober, unarmed, uninjured and did not resist arrest.

"Eli is thankful and relieved this has all been dismissed," William Lundy Jr., Jenkins' attorney, said outside the municipal courtroom. "The right thing happened today."

As a junior last season, Jenkins helped Jacksonville State to a 13-2 record, a second straight Ohio Valley Conference title and a national runner-up finish to North Dakota State. The first-team All-American, who played the season with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, captured the OVC's offensive player of the year award and finished sixth in voting for the STATS FCS Offensive Player of the Year.

Six days after Jenkins' arrest, Jacksonville State officials said an internal investigation indicated Jenkins did not violate the university's code of conduct.
