Oregon WR Devon Allen wins second NCAA title in 110-meter hurdles

Oregon wide receiver Devon Allen won the NCAA title in the 110-meter hurdles and will now compete for a chance to make his first Olympic team.

Oregon Ducks wide receiver Devon Allen won the NCAA title in the 110-meter hurdles with a 13.50-second victory at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Friday afternoon.

The title marked his second NCAA crown after winning in 2014. He also won the U.S. national title that same outdoor season.

He missed the 2015 outdoor campaign as he recovered from a knee injury he sustained while playing football.

Allen has won his last 13 races against collegiate athletes. He is Oregon's first two-time time hurdles champion since Jerry Tarr won in 1961 and 1962. Tarr helped Oregon win its first  NCAA men's outdoor title in 1962 and went on to play for the Denver Broncos.

Allen will compete at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials next month, where he can make the Olympic team for Rio de Janeiro if he places within the top three.
