Top-ranked receiver prospect and former Baylor commit Devin Duvernay has committed to Texas, reports Gerry Hamilton of ESPN.

The No. 4 receiver in the 2016 class according to Scout.com, Duvernay sought his release from Baylor after coach Art Briles was fired for his role in a sexual assault scandal that rocked the university.

Duvernay took visits to Texas, TCU and Oklahoma after learning that Baylor did not submit his national letter of intent to the Big 12 offices, meaning he was free from his commitment. 

“I going to Texas,” Duvernay said. “I just feel like they are coming up, and feel good about Charlie Strong and his staff’s plan and they are going to turn this thing around. I feel like coach Sterlin Gilbert is kind of the missing piece to help out the offense. I feel like he can add me in, and add some speed to the receiving core.”

Baylor early enrollee Tren’Davian Dickson has also announced his intention to transfer to Houston. 

Dickson is rated as the No. 3 receiver in the 2016 class.
