Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze hasn’t spoken with Laremy Tunsil since the ex-Rebels offensive lineman was drafted by the Miami Dolphins, but Tunsil did recently send his former coach a letter, according to ESPN.

Freeze didn’t go into the details of the letter, but discussed its contents.

“His sincere love for me. That’s probably all I should say,” Freeze said. “There was a sweetness to it, but I knew that’s who he was. He’s a good kid, has a good heart.”

Tunsil entered the 2016 NFL draft as a potential No. 1 pick, but saw his stock plummet after an image of him smoking out of a bong connected to a mask appeared on his social media accounts during the draft.

Things got worse when an image of text messages showing Tunsil asking for money from an Ole Miss coach was posted on his hacked Instagram. Tunsil, 21, later acknowledged the text messages were real.

That incident resulted in Ole Miss self-imposing a loss 11 scholarships over a four-year period.
