Auburn running back Jovon Robinson is no longer with the program.
Auburn running back Jovon Robinson is no longer with the program, head coach Gus Malzahn announced Wednesday.
Malzahn told reporters Robinson “did not meet [his] standards.” He added “there’s going to be no distractions” with the team this season. Malzahn would not elaborate.
AL.com reported players did not receive an explanation for Robinson’s dismissal.
Robinson entered camp as the team’s starting running back after running for 639 yards and three touchdowns in eight games last season and putting together a strong final stretch. The senior has a year of eligibility remaining.
