Indiana State player kneels during national anthem before game vs. Minnesota
Following in the footsteps of Colin Kaepernick, a player for Indiana State took a knee during the national anthem before Saturday’s game against Minnesota.
Several other athletes have joined Kaepernick in kneeling during the national anthem as a protest against inequality in American. Soccer player Megan Rapinoe kneeled before an NWSL match last week and Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall did the same before Thursday’s NFL season opener.
The practice has also spread to high school games.
At least one Sycamores player kneeled during Saturday’s anthem.

The photo makes it difficult to tell which player was kneeling, but it appears to be No. 33, Lonnie Walker II. Walker is a redshirt sophomore defensive back from Culver City, Calif.
