The ACC Championship Game will be played in Orlando this season, the conference announced Thursday

Earlier this month, the ACC decided to pull all its neutral-site championship events from North Carolina in response to the state’s discriminatory HB2 bill. The football championship was originally schedule to be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte but will now be played at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

ESPN's Brett McMurphyreported Tuesday that ACC officials were visiting Orlando this week to scout the city as a possible conference title game host.

Camping World Stadium also hosts the annual Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, among other bowl games.

The move is in step with the NCAA, which recently moved 13 of its Division I and Division II neutral site games from North Carolina. The NBA also pulled its All-Star Game out of the state, relocating it to New Orleans, in response to the law.

The law, House Bill 2, limits anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay and transgender people, and requires people to use public restrooms that correspond with the sex listed on their birth certificates.

The ACC championships for women’s soccer, football, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s golf, men’s golf and baseball will also be moved to neutral sites.
