It isn't often that the Big Ten holds a marquee game on a Friday night. But that is exactly what will happen when Ohio State takes its undefeated record to Northwestern hoping to keep its candidacy for the College Football Playoff alive. But an upset-minded Northwestern might not make things easy on Justin Fields and the Buckeyes.

Ohio State has been dominant this season, beating every team they have played thus far by 24 or more points. Last week, the Buckeyes crushed Michigan State by a 34–10 margin. The Buckeyes racked up 323 yards on the ground against a normally stout Michigan State defense. Perhaps more impressive was the run defense for Ohio State, who gave up just 67 yards rushing for the entire contest. While it appears Ohio State is clicking on all cylinders on both sides of the ball, it has to be careful not to overlook this Northwestern team.

Northwestern has a 1–4 record heading into this contest, as they have struggled to move the ball consistently. The Wildcats' 13–10 loss to Nebraska in their last game was proof of their offensive struggles, with the team amassing just 136 yards passing. With this game being the first of consecutive home games against ranked opponents–Iowa is up next–a sense of urgency will be present for a team looking to keep bowl eligibility from slipping away over the next couple of weeks.
