Lee Corso to Return to ‘College GameDay’ Saturday in Montana
Lee Corso is set to return to College GameDay on Saturday morning, as the show heads to Bozeman, Mont. for the huge FCS rivalry game between Montana and Montana State.
The show’s former host Chris Fowler shared the happy news on Twitter on Friday morning.
“Awesome news! Look who’s back?! Mr Corso reunites with the @CollegeGameDay gang tomorrow up in Bozeman, Montana,” he wrote. “Hope LC packed his warmest coat! Seeing him on my TV tomorrow will warm my heart.”
Corso, 87, last appeared on the show on Oct. 22, when GameDay broadcast from Eugene, Ore. ahead of Oregon’s win over UCLA.
Corso was absent from the show for three weeks as he dealt with a health issue, missing trips to Jackson State, Georgia and Texas.
“Lee Corso still recuperating,” host Rece Davis said last weekend as the show opened in Austin. “We hope that he’s continuing to recover and hope that he’ll be back with us really soon.”
Earlier in the year, Corso missed another pair of Saturday College GameDay appearances after being hospitalized. He shared some insight into his undisclosed health issues, and joked that they came as a result of disparaging Clemson football during an earlier show.
“I tell ya, I had a hell of a scare,” he said. “I was real worried because I went to the hospital but I was there and a nurse said, ’No wonder you’re here. You said bad things about Clemson last week. That’s why you’re in the hospital.”
“So I’m not saying another bad thing about Clemson ever again.”
