Houston Cougars Outfielder Drew Bianco Makes Epic Home Run Robbery Catch (Video)

Houston outfielder Drew Bianco wowed Cougars fans once again on Sunday after making an epic home run-stealing catch against Incarnate Word.

With the Cougars up 8–3 at the top of the sixth, Incarnate Word first baseman Alec Carr stepped up to the plate looking to jump-start a comeback. Carr, facing a 2–0 count, appeared to be on his way to cutting the deficit after belting a pitch toward the left centerfield wall, but the homer ultimately wasn’t meant to be.

As Bianco continued to track the fly ball, the right-handed outfielder leaped into the air for a daring, left-handed catch before taking a big spill over the wall. Bianco then sprung to his feet after a few seconds with the ball in his glove, securing Houston’s first out of the inning in impressive style.

Although Houston would go on to lose Sunday’s game 10–8, Bianco’s highlight still served as a standout moment on an otherwise bitter day for the program. Not to mention, the big-time catch also gave Bianco another spectacular defensive play on the season after he pulled off a similar catch, minus the tumble, eight days ago in a 5–3 loss to Cal on Feb. 18.

Needless to say, if Bianco keeps making plays like this, the LSU transfer could very well end his first season in Houston with a highlight reel for the ages.
