Providence College has suspended Alyn Breed after city police charged the guard with multiple offenses in connection to an off-campus domestic incident, the school announced Saturday night.

According to The Providence Journal, Providence police announced that Breed was charged with “numerous firearm offenses” along with domestic charges, including unlawful entry, vandalism and robbery.

“As a result of these charges, Athletic Director Steve Napolillo and head coach Kim English have determined that Breed is suspended from the men’s basketball team and will not be allowed to participate in any other athletic department-related activities,” the school said in a statement.

The school added that it will follow its student-conduct disciplinary process.

Breed is coming off his junior season for the Friars and played in 32 games, including eight starts, for the team last season. He has played in 88 total games with 30 starts in his three seasons for Providence since the start of the 2020–21 season.
