Iowa Head Coach Asked About Angel Reese Motioning Toward Caitlin Clark

Lisa Bluder addressed the LSU star's actions during Sunday's game.

LSU star Angel Reese’s actions late in the fourth quarter of the national championship against Iowa on Sunday stirred up plenty of reactions from sports fans across the country.

After Reese was seen gesturing towards Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark during the final moments of the game, Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder weighed in on the situation.

"I'm sure she was really proud of her accomplishment. And I would be really proud of my accomplishment if I made it, won the national championship too. We're all different people, and we all have different ways to show our emotion. Again, I've got to focus on what I can control," said Bluder when asked about Reese's actions during her post-game media address, via David Eickholt of 247Sports

With time running down in the fourth quarter of LSU’s first-ever national title victory, Reese could be seen pointing at her ring finger while in Clark’s direction (Clark says she didn’t see it) as well as emulating the John Cena “you can’t see me” hand gesture.

Clark had made a similar hand gesture after Iowa defeated Louisville in the Elite Eight.

Bluder didn't go into much depth on the situation when speaking to reporters, indicating it was not something she could control.

The Tigers' star, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, said she gestured toward Clark in response to her “disrespect” of LSU's Alexis Morris, as well as South Carolina, who she called her "SEC sisters."
