Former UNC Guard Caleb Love Announces Transfer to Michigan

He announced his commitment on Friday via Twitter.

Former North Carolina point guard Caleb Love announced his commitment to Michigan today, via Twitter.

Love is the third player to commit to the Wolverines via the transfer portal, joining Nimari Burnett and Tray Jackson.

Love’s leadership and shooting from beyond the arc will help offset the key offensive losses of Michigan’s starting backcourt duo of Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard, who both declared for the NBA Draft.

Juwan Howard’s club also needs to replace dominant frontline center Hunter Dickinson, who recently entered the portal.

The starting trio led the Wolverines in scoring last season, all averaging in double-figures.

After being an integral component of North Carolina’s magical run to the National Championship game in 2022, the talented guard averaged a career high 16.7 points per game this past season to lead the team. However, despite his increased scoring production in his junior campaign, the Tar Heels missed the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010.
