LSU’s Brian Kelly Addresses Potential Interest in NFL
LSU coach Brian Kelly joined Barstool’s Bussin’ With the Boys podcast on Monday to discuss his move to LSU, the team’s success in his first year and more.
The Tigers went 10–4 on the season, including a 6–2 record in SEC play that featured a conference championship game appearance against eventual national champion Georgia.
Given his long tenure at Notre Dame that featured plenty of success, coupled with his quick ascent at LSU, it would not be surprising if the NFL came calling for the veteran coach.
When asked, Kelly addressed whether he would be interested in coaching at the NFL level at this stage of his career.
“No, I am all in [at LSU]. I love what I do,” Kelly said. “I have rediscovered the relationships with the players. I enjoy that too much. I am not a play caller anymore. I am not in meetings. I do not have to sit in those long meetings. I can be downstairs. I can be in the training room. I can eat with the guys. It just allows you that opportunity to be with the players more. I am available to fix any issues we might have.”
Although Kelly once interviewed with the Eagles for their open coaching vacancy back in 2013, it doesn’t sound like any other NFL interviews are in his future.
