LeBron James Shares Heartfelt Message After Bronny Signs USC LOI
When Bronny James committed to USC two weeks ago, he immediately became one of the biggest recruiting dominoes of the college basketball offseason to fall. On Thursday, he made his commitment official—and made his dad plenty proud in the process.
Ahead of the Lakers’ Game 2 Western Conference Finals matchup against the Nuggets, LeBron James shared a touching message to his son, who signed his letter of intent at Sierra Canyon School. LeBron has long been vocal about his support for his son’s accomplishments, and Thursday was no different.
“My boy signed his letter of intent yesterday for USC hoops! So damn happy and proud of you Bronny!!” James wrote. “Pops shed a gangsta 🥺😢 seeing this. So AMAZING!”
Bronny James becomes the second McDonald’s All-American to sign with USC this year, signing alongside fellow guard Isaiah Collier. He joins a team that’s made the past three NCAA tournaments and has a talented roster, yet is thin at guard, according to head coach Andy Enfield, which should lead to early minutes for James as a freshman.
“All our guards have a great opportunity to play for us because we don’t have a ton of guards,” Enfield said. “We don’t have eight or nine. We have some opportunity for those guys to carve out a nice role for them, and in Bronny’s case, we don’t promise starting spots, but the nice thing is I think all of our guards will play good minutes for us this year.”
