Auburn’s Freeze Gets Thrown Into Pool After Flipping Five-Star Recruit From Alabama
One of college football's best rivalries will experience even more juice after the Auburn Tigers landed one of the best wide receivers in the 2024 class.
6-foot-3, 205-pound five-star prospect Perry Thompson flipped his commitment from Alabama to 'War Eagle' in unforgettable fashion on Saturday.
Thompson, the No. 2-ranked player in the state of Alabama and No. 14-ranked player overall by 247Sports, becomes one of the highest-ranked commits in program history.
Auburn’s new head coach Hugh Freeze not only landed a top talent, but his ability to one-up in-state rival Alabama is a major coup.
Once Thompson announced his decision to the crowd, other players lifted Freeze into to the air and threw the coach into the pool.
However, it may be Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide staff who will likely need to cool off with a dip after witnessing Auburn’s new head man flipping one of their highly targeted recruits.
