Johnny Manziel Announces New Business Venture Near Texas A&M
This autumn will mark a decade since quarterback Johnny Manziel’s final ride at Texas A&M, a tumultuous season that saw “Johnny Football” finish fifth in the Heisman voting and end his college career with a bowl performance for the ages.
With that anniversary coming up—and with Manziel back in the headlines ahead of an upcoming Netflix documentary about his life—the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is launching a new business.
Manziel will open Johnny Manziel’s Money Bar on College Main Street in College Station, Texas, a 15-minute walk from Kyle Field. The business is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023, per its Instagram page.
Manziel played two years with the Aggies, becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy after throwing for 3,706 yards and totaling 47 total touchdowns. During and after his career with the Aggies, Manziel made little secret of his habitual partying. He played just 14 games for the Browns after being picked 22nd in the 2014 NFL draft.
Texas A&M opens its 2023 season on Sept. 2 against New Mexico.
