LSU Women’s Basketball Announces Nonconference Game in Angel Reese’s Hometown
As the LSU women’s basketball team aims to repeat as national champions in 2023–24, its schedule will include a triumphant homecoming on the court for star forward Angel Reese.
LSU released its nonconference schedule for the upcoming campaign on Wednesday, and the slate includes a road matchup pitting Reese and the Tigers against Coppin State of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference on Dec. 20 in Baltimore.
A native of nearby Randallstown, Md., Reese, who rose to acclaim at Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy, will play in her home city for the first time in her collegiate career. The 21-year-old shared her enthusiasm for the homecoming shortly after the news was announced.
In addition to the Coppin State matchup, Reese and LSU are also schedule for a Final Four rematch versus Virginia Tech on Nov. 30 in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers open defense of their national championship on Nov. 6 against Colorado in Las Vegas.
