Deion Sanders fired back at former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell on Thursday morning after the Colorado coach made remarks about FSU.

During a press conference, Sanders denied being a Seminole, despite playing there for four years. He cited the fact that he graduated from Talladega College in 2020 as the reason why he doesn’t consider himself a Seminole and upon seeing this on X, formerly called Twitter, Kanell called out Sanders, saying, “The lack of respect for the school that gave him his start is wild. The same school that retired his jersey. The same school that let him be Prime. There is a way to handle this question and this ain’t it.”

Sanders didn’t take too kindly to the criticism and responded.

“My man ain’t Nobody let me be me! I was Him and still is,” he wrote on X. “Your jersey only get retired if you’re a Dogg and 1 of the greatest ever and I was. Ain’t nobody give me nothing, I took it and earned it. Stay out of Grown folks business u have no idea what is what. The Truth hurts my man. I got time!”

Kanell played for FSU from 1992 to ‘95 and was drafted by the Giants in 1996, long after Sanders played there and earned himself unanimous All-American selections—twice. After his comments one thing is clear, Sanders does’t appear to have any love for his former team.
