Just two games into Deion Sanders’s tenure as Colorado’s head coach, there is already speculation as to whether Sanders could leave for a better job. Whether that means taking a higher-profile job in college or jumping to the NFL, Sanders is likely to generate a lot of interest if the Buffaloes continue to win.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t necessarily mean Sanders will want to leave, and for now, he is committed to Colorado. Sanders said Friday on ESPN’s First Take that he has no intentions of leaving his current job.

“I’m not going to the NFL,” he said. “I like it here in Boulder.”

Although it’s early in his tenure, Sanders already has shown the ability to make Boulder a destination for recruits. With how much Colorado has invested in its new coach, Sanders may feel too comfortable to go anywhere else, including the NFL.

Of course, a number of college coaches have stated their commitment to their teams over the years only to pivot and take another job. Still, if Sanders is confident that he can turn Colorado into a national contender, there may not be a need for him to go elsewhere.
