At a time where Colorado football’s stock continues to boom, first-year coach Deion Sanders raised eyebrows, once again, on Saturday after hosting an anticipated visit with the top quarterback recruit in the Class of 2025.

Five-star QB Bryce Underwood shared two pictures on X (formerly Twitter) of himself alongside Sanders ahead of the No. 25-ranked Buffaloes’ home matchup against Colorado State. The visit marks Underwood’s first trip to the school after receiving an offer in January.

Given the buzz surrounding Boulder entering the weekend, many high school and college football fans were intrigued by the shots of Underwood, a junior at Belleville High School in Michigan, and Sanders, who previously landed former No. 1 recruit Travis Hunter. Not to mention, the pair posing in front of Coach Prime’s “We Coming” slogan for the 2023 season shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the chatter between Sanders and CSU coach Jay Norvell ahead of Saturday’s game.

Listed at 6’ 3” and 205 pounds, Underwood’s star continues to rise following a dominant, two-year run leading Belleville to back-to-back state titles. His CU visit came just a day after he added to the budding hype with a perfect, five-touchdown game in a shutout win.

With Sanders’s son and junior star Shedeur Sanders currently making noise under center, the Buffaloes (2–0) could already have a top-notch successor lined up before he finishes the year. As of Saturday, LSU and Michigan are reportedly the favorites among Underwood’s 40 offers, though pulling off another coup of a signing would mark the latest seismic move by Sanders as he looks to build for the future.
