Ohio State and Penn State are set to face off Oct. 21 in Columbus in what is sure to be one of the biggest games of the season with significant College Football Playoff implications.

Ahead of the big game next month, 12 Pennsylvania breweries, all owned by Penn State alumni, are teaming together to release a “Buckeye Tears” IPA, Breweries in PA announced earlier this week.

The 4.09% alcohol IPA will feature a cartoon of a crying Brutus Buckeye mascot.

In the press release, Breweries in PA said, “Obviously no harm is meant, we just think ‘Buckeye Tears’ is the perfect name for a beer that will honor Penn State heading to the National Championship in 2023! No one in Ohio wants to see that.”

The beer will be released both on tap and in cans in early October ahead of the big game later next month.

In an annual rivalry that always brings intensity to the field, there is now an added element off the field that likely will be a fan favorite for Penn State alums heading into their Week 8 contest against Ohio State.
