Georgia TE Brock Bowers’s Dominant Performance vs. Auburn Has NFL Fans Salivating

The All-American tight end showed why he looked every bit the part of a top NFL prospect in Saturday’s win over Auburn.

Georgia All-American tight end Brock Bowers was at the center of No. 1 Georgia’s 27–20 road escape on Saturday against Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Bowers’s 40-yard touchdown reception with 2:52 to play put the Bulldogs ahead for good, and capped an eight-catch, 157 yard performance in thrilling fashion with the go-ahead score.

Unranked Auburn, under first-year coach Hugh Freeze, gave Georgia all it could handle, and for stretches in this game looked like the better team. The Bulldogs could not get much going on the ground all afternoon, rushing the ball for just 3.5 yards per carry as a team. But as Georgia held the Auburn offense at bay in the second half, it was only a matter of time before the Bulldogs hit on a big play.

Enter Bowers, who is one of the top prospects in next April’s NFL draft, and looked every bit like the prospect who professional teams are clamoring over. It likely won’t be the last time this season that Bowers will make an outsized impact on a big game. He will have plenty more opportunities to elevate himself on draft boards as SEC play continues.

Here are some of the top reactions from NFL and college football fans and media alike after Bowers’s clutch performance for the Bulldogs on Saturday.
