The story of Florida State's improvement in 2023 starts and ends with quarterback Jordan Travis.

As the Seminoles progressed from a 10-3 team to a 10-0 team, Travis improved from a good quarterback into a Heisman contender. He entered Saturday having thrown 20 touchdowns against just two interceptions on the season.

However, Travis exited Florida State's game against North Alabama Saturday in catastrophic fashion. The Seminoles signal-caller appeared to suffer a severe lower-body injury on a hip-drop tackle, and was taken out of Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee in an ambulance.

Travis finished his outing with just two completions on four attempts for 24 yards.

The apparent injury played into a nightmare start for Florida State, which trailed the FCS Lions 13-0 at the end of the opening 15 minutes.

The Seminoles—in search of their first College Football Playoff berth since 2014—have Florida and ACC championship opponent Louisville looming in their next two games.
