J.J. McCarthy Prepared for the CFP National Championship by Brushing His Teeth Differently
The quarterback whom Tom Brady agreed is the greatest in Michigan football history once again had the college football world buzzing for a mindfulness technique performed off the collegiate gridiron.
After revealing last week that J.J. McCarthy uses meditation as a way to clear his head before games, ESPN's Holly Rowe shared how the star signal-caller brushes his teeth in an attempt to alter his brain waves.
“When he gets up in the morning and brushes his teeth, he is a right-handed quarterback, he will brush his teeth with his left hand because it changes your neural patterns and it makes you have alpha brain waves,” said Rowe. “He will say to himself ‘I Love You, Man’ and picture himself with a Rose (from the Rose Bowl win) in his teeth. This week, he has pictured holding the national championship trophy.”
Instead of generating social media buzz for helping to guide the Wolverines to a 17–10 halftime lead over Washington in the CFP championship, McCarthy had college football fans reacting to how he brushes his teeth.
