Bronny James Showered With ‘Overrated’ Chants During USC Loss to Arizona State
This has hardly been the season USC envisioned when it landed guard Bronny James's commitment on May 6.
The Trojans entered Saturday's nationally televised matchup against Arizona State a measly 8-10, having lost three straight games. Things did not get better, as USC lost 82-67 despite outshooting the Sun Devils 46.6% to 42.9%.
Now, the Trojans sit in 11th place in the Pac-12—already four games behind first-place Oregon.
To add insult to injury, James was showered with chants of "overrated" by the Arizona State faithful Saturday afternoon as he finished a seven-point, four-rebound, five-assist performance in defeat.
In 10 games since his return from his summer cardiac arrest, the son of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Time is running out for USC to right the ship in its last year before joining the Big Ten. The most losses the Trojans have sustained and still made the NCAA tournament is 12 in 2008 under coach Tim Floyd.
