Michigan Player Supports Sherrone Moore for Head Coach As Jim Harbaugh Leaves for Chargers
Jim Harbaugh officially left the Michigan football program on Wednesday night to take the head coaching role with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Now, fans wait to see who Harbaugh’s replacement will be. Michigan’s offensive coordinator and offensive lineman coach Sherrone Moore stood out quickly as the frontrunner to take over as the Wolverines’ coach, and it sounds like one player agrees with the idea.
Zak Zinter, who was a 2023 unanimous All-American offensive lineman, made his opinion about Moore clearly known on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after the Harbaugh news dropped.
“No interviews needed. It’s Papa Moore’s time,” Zinter tweeted.
Moore stepped up in the 2023 season as Michigan’s interim coach when Harbaugh served a self-imposed suspension and during his suspension by the Big Ten conference due to the program’s sign-stealing scandal. In that time, the Wolverines won games over Penn State, Maryland and Ohio State.
Whoever takes over for the Wolverines will have the tough job of following up a national title winning season.
