Caitlin Clark Posts Heartfelt Message After Breaking NCAA Scoring Record

Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark stands in a league of her own after breaking the NCAA all-time career women’s basketball scoring record on Thursday night in a 106–89 home win over Michigan.

Clark set the record with a deep pull-up three from the logo early in the first quarter. She scored a career-high and program-record 49 points on a historic night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.

On Friday, Clark posted a heartfelt message to her social media account in the wake of her career night.

“Such a special night inside Carver surrounded by everyone who has supported me on this journey,” Clark wrote. “I am so lucky to have the best family, teammates, coaches, and fans. Thank you everyone who has reached out - your kind words mean the world to me. Go Hawks!”

Clark and the No. 4 Hawkeyes have one week off before returning to action Feb. 22 against Indiana, where the Iowa star will continue to push her new record even further out of reach.
