Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark set the NCAA career scoring record in Thursday night’s 106–89 home win over Michigan.

It was fitting for Clark, who hit a deep pull-up three from the logo for her eighth point of the night and the 3,528th point of her career to break the record of former University of Washington star Kelsey Plum. Clark finished the night by scoring a career-high and program-record 49 points to go along with 13 assists and five rebounds.

The Big Ten Network released a video featuring several professional athletes and celebrities alike, who offered Clark congratulatory messages. The video included recordings from former NFL stars Tom Brady and Peyton Manning among others.

“Congrats, Caitlin!” Brady said in his message. “I just wanted to say congratulations on the record. Like the rest of the country, I’ve been following along while you chased down my girl, Kelsey. But I know she’s proud of you too. We love witnessing greatness here. Keep your head down. Go finish the job, and I’ll be watching. Good luck!”

Manning had similar kind words for Clark amid her unprecedented record.

“Just wanted to say congratulations on breaking the all-time scoring record. Look when I played, I hated settling for three points. But you’ve actually turned me into a huge fan of the three. Not an easy task. And I know you’ve inspired millions of other people along the way,” Manning said.

Clark and the No. 4 Hawkeyes are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 22 on the road against Indiana, as the Iowa star will continue to add to her scoring record.
