UCLA Lands Commitment From Christian Horry, Son of NBA Great Robert Horry
The son of one of the NBA’s most prolific winners is headed to one of college basketball’s winningest programs.
Christian Horry—a Class of 2024 guard from Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles—has committed to play for UCLA, he announced in a Friday morning social media post.
“This wouldn’t be possible without my family, God, and my friends. I appreciate everyone who always believed in me and supported me throughout this journey,” he wrote. “Thank you to Coach [Darren] Savino and everyone on the UCLA staff for believing in me and helping me reach my dreams.”
Horry is the son of Robert Horry, a former forward for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs.
The elder Horry won seven NBA championships during his career, the most of any player who never played for the Boston Celtics.
The younger Horry’s Bruins—currently 14–11 and winners of eight of their last nine games—will join the Big Ten next season.
