Jason Sudeikis Perfectly Trolled Angel Reese, LSU During Elite Eight Loss vs. Iowa
The Elite Eight battle between Iowa and LSU stole the spotlight on Monday evening, as basketball fans clamored to get a glimpse of the Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese rematch.
Among those in attendance for the NCAA tournament game was renowned "Ted Lasso" star, Jason Sudeikis, and he seemed to be supporting Clark and the Hawkeyes in their bid to return to the Final Four.
Late into the fourth quarter, with Iowa beginning to pull away from the Tigers, Sudeikis could be seen celebrating the soon-to-be victory with an all-too-familiar gesture. From his spot in the stands, Sudeikis was seen hitting the "you can't see me" hand gesture that was quite the point of contention during the Iowa-LSU matchup in last year's NCAA tournament.
Of course, during last season's National Championship, Reese went viral after making that very same gesture in the face of Clark as time winded down on the Tigers' victory. With the result going in the Hawkeyes' favor on Monday night, Sudeikis wasted no time in bringing the celebratory taunt back.
Clark and Reese have maintained that there's no bad blood between them, and they embraced on the court in the aftermath of Iowa's win.
"I think people just take it like we hate each other. Me and Caitlin Clark don't hate each other. I want everybody to understand that. It's just a super-competitive game," said Reese to reporters on Sunday.
Their rivalry, even if manufactured by college basketball fans, brings plenty of excitement to the game, and Sudeikis's comical antics from the stands were a prime example of precisely that.
