ESPN’s Rebecca Lobo Trashed Albany During Iowa’s Win Over LSU, and Social Media Went Wild

The city of Albany, NY caught an unexpected stray from the ESPN women's basketball analyst.

As No. 1 seed Iowa was putting the finishing touches on its Elite Eight victory over No. 3 seed LSU on Monday night, ESPN's Ryan Ruocco was trying to fill some dead air time while Caitlin Clark shot free throws with 41.9 seconds to play.

ESPN's camera crew panned to Clark's family in the stands, as Ruocco told a story of how they wanted to spend time with her before the Elite Eight game.

"They've been reaching out to me, and I've told them, 'Just go find something to do in Albany! I'm staying in my room and just waiting for the game.'"

It was then, that ESPN women's basektball analyst Rebecca Lobo shot the city of Albany an unexpected stray.

"By the way, good luck finding something to do in Albany," Lobo quipped.

Lobo's joke about Albany was obviously made without malicious intent. That didn't stop social media from going wild over Lobo's comments. Here are some of the best reactions following the ESPN college basketball analyst's late-game shot at the city:
