USC freshman guard Bronny James has declared for the 2024 NBA draft, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, made the decision to enter the draft after entering the transfer portal earlier this week. James is expected to work out and visit NBA teams and make a final draft decision based on evaluations that he receives from scouts.

While there is still potential for James to return for a second season of college basketball, it's unlikely that it will be at USC, after the coach that recruited him, Andy Enfield, left for the SMU job. New coach Eric Musselman will certainly try to keep James on the roster, but he will keep his options open as he determines his next steps.

In 25 games this season, including six starts, James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 36.6% shooting from the floor overall and 26.7% shooting from three.
