2022-23 SEC Men's Basketball Power Rankings: Week 14
While Alabama remains atop the SEC standings and is the only team left without a loss in conference play, the teams behind it are starting to shuffle quite a bit.
Tennessee remains second in this week's SEC Power Rankings despite a rough road loss at Florida and just barely scraping by Auburn at Neville Arena. However, few teams have proven they have what it takes to best the Volunteers, so they remain second — for now.
The team that poses the biggest threat to take second place is Texas A&M. The Aggies move up from fifth to third after winning four of its last five. Their rise isn't completely due to their play, though — it's also dependent on the slide of two surprising teams.
Kentucky suffered more of a slip-up rather than a slide, moving down one spot to fourth after a pretty substantial home loss to Arkansas. The Wildcats have seemingly righted the ship, though, after a tough start to SEC play. This week they will continue to attempt their course correction with back-to-back road games at Georgia and Mississippi State.
Auburn continues to slide as it has now lost four of its last five games, including twice to Texas A&M. The Tigers' schedule doesn't get any easier as they host Alabama on Saturday before turning around and playing Missouri on Tuesday. Auburn has a chance to rectify its recent wrongs with a pair of wins — or continue its collapse should it lose both.
The Tigers drop from fourth all the way down to eighth this week.
